STRATEGY & OPERATIONS

Sheffield Social Enterprise Network

Management Committee
2014 - present

Synopsis

Sheffield Social Enterprise Network's (SSEN) mission is to enable social enterprises in Sheffield to “Achieve Greater Social Impact through Making Connections, Become Better Informed, Share Experiences, and Leverage a Stronger Collective Voice.” SSEN is the member-led community for Sheffield-based social enterprises, social entrepreneurs or those involved in supporting them.

I am on the SSEN's management committee, alongside four other dedicated volunteers (Colette Wymer, Jon Johnson, Darren Chouings, and Claire Collister). We send out a monthly newsletter and host events every few months that attract key speakers, such as Nick Temple from Social Enterprise UK, Ged Devlin from Power to Change, and Sue Osbourne from the School for Social Entrepreneurs. We represent the social enterprise sector in Sheffield at City Council meetings and roundtables, and help to signpost social entrepreneurs to relevant resources.
